PERSONALITY
Terwelu is a very confident individual, but she cares deeply for her fellow cats. She leads her fellow clan mates with pride and strength, treating all of its members with respect and expecting the same. The Tempus is something she takes very seriously, and she will not hesitate to admonish a fair, yet strict, punishment if the need arises. While she is very strong-willed, there are some respected individuals that she will take advice from, especially her brother. She is very good at hiding her emotions and leading purely with her head, and all of her decisions are logical and well thought through. She is a natural born leader, but she knows she needs to earn the respect of her followers first. While she knows it is no longer necessary, Terwelu can often be seem returning to camp covered in mud and dirt in between their claws. Many other cats could say they are not even sure if Terwelu is more cat or rabbit.
HISTORY
Terwelu and her brother were orphans for most of their life, and she has no memory of when exactly their parents died or even who they were. She and her brother are very close and always have been, despite their physical differences. From a young age they learned how to hide, digging tunnels that eventually became a complex network for themselves. Both the cats have the tunnels completely memorized to this day, but they will protect the true location of them with their lives.
While he problem did not arise until they were fully grown, Rusa and Terwelu have very different body types and skills. Terwelu is small, fast and skinny where her brother is tall, muscular and broad. These physical differences made it much harder for Rusa to stay in the tunnels as he grew, and he does not share the same love for them as his brother. Appropriately, Terwelu was named after his long ears, and while their parents did not know how literal the name would end up being, he still embraces the title. While he is named after the swift rabbit, Rusa is named after the tall and graceful deer, fitting his darker pelt colours and long legs.
Once they were fully grown, the tunnels they called home became cumbersome. They had been designed for rabbits almost half their size, especially for Rusa, and they did not have the skill to expand them properly yet. After careful deliberation, the siblings decided to abandon their safe haven and adventure into the real world. They had heard stories of organized groups of cats living on the island, and apparently one was far more opening to outsiders then the rest.
Terwelu and Rusa were welcomed into the clan at the age of ten months, but Terwelu still felt she had to prove herself. She trained hard, trying to earn the respect of the other cats and her own. Once she became a warrior this drive did not stop. She wanted to lead, she wanted the respect of the other cats, and she wanted to earn it.
Despite not needing them, Terwelu could not shake the love of the mud underneath her paws and the dirt pressing against her spine. When she had free time she began returning to their childhood tunnels, repairing them and expanding them to fit a cat of her size. She has been working on this for many moons, and the tunnels stretch across the territory, unbeknownst to the other cats. Even Rusa know longer knows the full extent of them, as he has not been under ground since they joined Tempus. While she knows it is dangerous, Terwelu cannot resist the lure of the tunnels, and she knows Rusa will be able to save her if anything goes awry.
((backstory if she becomes Luna))
Shortly after she joined, Terwelu began feeling a presence. She heard quiet whispers in her head and it often felt like she was being watched. While this would have normally freaked the young cat out, the presence seemed to be helpful, trying to guide her in the right direction. When she began having cryptic dreams that she could not explain, she spoke to the Medicus, who explained the history of the Tempus and how the Tutulas of the previous Luna and Right-Paw would choose their successors. While she was puzzled by this, Terwelu accepted it. She was not one to judge, and it was better than believing she was crazy.
A short while after she became a warrior, the previous Right-Paw had been murdered by an unknown group of rogues. Enraged, Terwelu plotted with Rusa, sneaking out with her brother to find the cats responsible. Using their tunnels, the two cats hunted the rogues down, discovering they had been stealing prey in secret for almost a moon. Using the element of surprise the tunnels gave them, the two cats were able to chase the rogues off.
Returning to camp with the news, the Luna was amazed. She had been growing old and had know idea who to pick for her replacement Right-Paw. After the Medicus explained what had begun to happen to Terwelu, the Luna accepted it.
Roughly three moons ago the past Luna passed away, succumbing to her old age and sickness. Terwelu grieved, but she had never been particularly close to the cat. As Luna, Terwelu has been privately planning a way to incorporate her tunnels into the Tempus' life, but she knew it would be a long and hard challenge. Not all cats were willing to move away from the sunlight and stay in eternal darkness.
While she would have loved to make Rusa Right-Paw, she knew the Tempus' traditions and followed them, accepting whichever cat the Tutulas requested until she has her own kits, which mind be soon if her luck is good.
